The New York Foreclosure Moratorium Has Expired

The foreclosure moratorium that went into effect in early 2020 has now expired. This means that if you are behind on your mortgage, your mortgage lender may now initiate a foreclosure against you (provided that it has already sent you a 90-Day Notice and met any other conditions it needs to meet before starting a foreclosure). The good news is that all mortgage lenders (and servicers) are required to provide homeowners with an opportunity to apply for a loan modification. If you are behind on mortgage payments and your forbearance has ended (or is about to end), Resmodo can help you apply for a loan modification or home retention option.
